Help Me Improve the FoodStack Library: I Value Your Feedback

When I launched the FoodStack Library in June this year (2024), it was on a whim. I saw that

Robin Taylor (he/him)

was thinking of setting up his new publication

SmallStack

and thought I could do something similar for FoodWriters.

And so FoodStack Library was born.

Since then, it has grown from zero - 1,200 subscribers in a few short months. All thanks to the community's support and all the contributors to this publication, which now sits on its own domain, ‘FoodStackLibrary.com’ within Substack.

Your support has been amazing and very much appreciated.

As with most of my projects, such as Food Blogs, websites, cookbooks, etc., I have an idea of what I want to do, but I rarely have a plan. However, I do have a voice that sits firmly on my shoulders, saying, ‘Just Do It.’ If this voice matches the gut feeling in my stomach, and if I can come up with an exit plan, then I go for it and learn from any failures and successes. 

I have had my fair share of stress levels, wasted time, money, and burnout over the past 14 or so years to know when to stop and what not to do next time. I still make mistakes, but I quickly learn from them.

There is no point in continuing down the same road if the FoodStack Library is not connecting with people along the way, which is why I would love your feedback.

The FSL is not about me. It’s about all the FoodWriters on Substack whom I want to shine a light on and food enthusiasts looking to discover amazing publications. I am a very private person, and since the lockdown years, I have become more of a recluse and introvert than is good for me, which is why this publication is a hobby with no paywall. I would much rather you use your subscription money to support a food writer you love the most.
