Ahhhh …as a ‘bookie’ and someone who loves reading about food, your bookshelves are delicious! Yum. I found a signed copy the other day on one of my bookshelves, of The River Cafe cookbook and was very pleased indeed because I once again dived into their writing and inspirations. I shall look up the Laurie Colwin … right now, I’m reading Cold Kitchen by Caroline Eden and yes, dual thing going on here, Feast by Nigel Slater / great to be a happy recipient of your ‘book larder’.

Great article. At least you have an excuse for collecting cookbooks as it’s ‘job’ related, I have none, other than cookbook avarice. But I really want to know - who were the snippy ones?!

Cheryl! What a fun read and a delightful collection of books! We are drawn towards similar themes in books and I am certain I could content myself for many hours with the books in your library.

A custom illustration from Elizabeth Luard AND Jenny Hammerton’s cookbook? Pure gold! 💫

To be fair, Jenny and I share similar tastes but I don't to my shame have any of her books. Yet.

Cheryl, while we share a love of cookbooks, we definitely have very different collections so this was a really interesting read!

Years ago I downloaded the app Eat Your Books, which I love. You scan the ISBN codes using your phone and it catalogs your cookbooks. You can then search your own book collection by recipe or ingredient. It helps me rediscover books I’ve forgotten about which is so much better than buying new ones!

An excellent, excellent cookery book shelf here! Loved the mention of Laura Mason. I have just bought her National Trust book of Crumbles and it is simply marvellous.
