The library itself is quite phenomenal...on par with the medical school historical collection at my alma mater. The secret alchemy of cooking and medicine in those pages must both be worthy and closely aligned.
Lynn, congratulations on this new feature. As someone with ~500 cookbooks of my own, I always love to see what's on other people's shelves. What a wonderful library and story! Sally, it's so inspiring to hear you speak about your natural passion and love for what you do. Your authors are very lucky to have you on their team.
Forgot to mention that I *just bought Jubilee yesterday--it's long been on my wish list. I see it features prominently on your shelf :-). I love the way Toni Tipton-Martin writes and her historian's lens.
I have that Blueberry Hill Cookbook, too, Sally Ekus! It's a treasure. I also use Eat Your Books, Jane Kelly's incredibly handy index of the books you own. It's a website that indexes recipes from cookbooks, magazines, blogs, and online recipes. It helps users find recipes in their own cookbooks and other sources. Awesome!
Sally, you always emit such enthusiasm for your work, it’s such a blast to learn about your family and history that led you to Substack and your agency. Thank you so much for sharing with us! X
I love this so much. What a delightful way to grow up and what a wonderful career. I’d love to spend an evening with Sally, her mother, and their treasure trove of books.
Thank you so much for letting me a share a window into my world!
